Border Express Set to Open State-of-the-Art Facility in Perth
We are thrilled to announce the launch of our brand-new facility at 17 Tarlton Crescent, Perth Airport, this month. This significant expansion is a testament to our commitment to enhancing efficiency and supporting our continued growth in the Perth and greater WA region.
Addressing Current Challenges
As Border Express has grown, the limitations of our current site have become increasingly evident. The existing facility, though operational, has struggled to meet our growing needs, leading to congestion and reduced efficiency. Recognising these challenges, we made the strategic decision to invest in a new, purpose built site that would better serve our customers and operational demands.
The New Facility: A Game Changer
The new facility at 17 Tarlton Crescent offers a substantial upgrade in both space and functionality. Covering a sprawling 4 hectares, with 13,000 square metres under the roof and an additional 1,500 square meters of awning, this site is designed to accommodate our growth and enhance our operational capabilities.
Located within the Perth Airport precinct, the site boasts excellent connectivity to Perth’s major road networks, including Tonkin, Leach, and Roe Highways, positioning us alongside other major industry players in this prime blue-chip location.
Key Benefits of the New Site
- Enhanced Loading Capacity: The new facility is equipped with parcel loading docks for 33 vehicles, allowing for smoother and more efficient loading and unloading operations.
- Improved Truck Handling: With the ability to stage and handle 6-8 B-doubles simultaneously, compared to just 3 at our current site, we can now manage a higher volume of goods with greater efficiency.
- Specialised Loading Equipment: The inclusion of 4 parcel pan loading docks and 3 Longreach telescopics further optimises the loading and unloading process, ensuring faster turnaround times.
- Ample Parking: Addressing previous constraints, the new site offers parking for up to 30 B-Double trailers, significantly improving logistics management.
- Capacity for Growth: The expansive space and optimised operations at the new site pave the way for our continued growth and expansion in the Perth region.
A Collaborative Effort
The development of this new facility has been a collaborative effort with Perth Airport and Capstone, our construction partner. Monthly on-site meetings have ensured the smooth execution of the project, keeping us on track for a successful launch.
Looking Ahead
The new site at 17 Tarlton Crescent is a crucial step forward in our mission to provide unparalleled logistics and transportation services. With cutting-edge facilities and a focus on growth, this investment positions Border Express for a bright future in the Perth region and beyond.
We are excited to go live this month and invite you to stay tuned for more updates as we approach the completion of this significant milestone.
